Step #1 - Get Proud

Rottweiler owners are proud of their dogs - after all - the Rottweiler is an ancient and noble breed. But all dog owners, regardless of breed (or mix!) are too.
So get out there and be proud of your dog - show him or her off to neighbors, friends, the press - and of course politicians. Socialze, socialize, socialize ( not just your dog but you too!). Join groups, host a BBQ and take your dog out to meet and greet on the street!
Break those nasty breed and OWNER stereotypes and don’t let anyone marginalize or criminalize you or your dog. Be proud of who you are, and be proud of your dog!
Step #2 - Get Loud

The squeaky wheel get’s oiled! And that means at the very first hint of anything even remotely breed-specific (or anti-dog) in your community, it’s time to make some noise.
Pick up the phone - don’t be shy - and let you local polticians know that breed specific legislation is unacceptable - PERIOD. Call, write, fax, email - use every method of communication at your disposal to get you message across.
Don’t forget to let them know that any problem is usually solved by enforcing existing local ordinaces, and that you share the common goals of protecting the public health and safety of you community.
One last thing - make sure your politicians know you are a registered voter!
Step #3 - Bring A Crowd

Want to make sure local officials know how you feel?
Bring a crowd and bring down the house! Gather the biggest crowd of dog lovers, friends and supporters and sit in on your next city council meeting. Be sure to fill every seat in the house - and they’ll be sure to get the message.
Be sure to get you friends on an email list so they too can keep abreast of local dog-related ordinances that might be detrimental to your four-legged best friends!
